Kubus Events: A year in Review

Although it may have snuck up on us, 2025 is here and all of us at Kubus are ready to go with new ventures, continued growth, and exciting opportunities for the coming year.

With plans to attend and participate in a host of different events over the next 12 months, it seems only fitting to commence 2025 with a reflection on our favourites from 2024.

Our first event on the 2024 calendar was the Women in Public Sector IT Strategy Forum, held at The De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel by ah!media. Kubus Vendor Manager Katy Maley was joined at this event by Naomi Elia of Juniper Networks, in order to present Juniper’s transformative AI solution, Mist, alongside Juniper Apstra for datacentre transformation.

A primary focus of the forum, alongside promoting and empowering women in tech, was navigating AI and the future of automation. Mist, with its unique ability to optimize end user experiences was the primary subject of Katy and Naomi’s interactions, with many attendees requesting further meetings to discuss the solution in more detail.

The event was a great way to celebrate the collective power of women in IT, whilst exploring new technologies for business transformation. Presenting a combined value offering of Juniper Networks’ innovative AI technology, delivered seamlessly by our Kubus Experts, led to valuable connections and future opportunities for us as a business.

Next up for us was the Local Government Partnership Network (LGPN), held by Partnership Network Events (PNE) at Hilton Deansgate in Manchester.  Kubus Account Manager Amy Twinning exhibited alongside Rhys Hardstaff of Juniper Networks, to showcase how Juniper’s Mist AI solution can help local governments to optimise and improve end-user experiences.

Taking to the stage, Amy championed our ability to provide superior value and support as a Juniper Partner Assured Elite Plus Partner, as well as our expertise and breadth of knowledge of Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform.

Delegates enjoyed learning about the tangible benefits this technology through a case study on the London Borough of Brent Council, for whom the implementation of Mist increased staff productivity, producing an equivalent of £400k savings per annum in staff time by 2023/24.

This event enabled us to better understand the challenges faced by local authorities, as well as demonstrating to them how we can tailor our solutions to support AI implementation and orchestration across public sector entities.

May was a busy month for us here at Kubus. Alongside attending the above LGPN event, a team of our sales and technical experts exhibited at DTX Manchester. Run by Imago Techmedia and held at Manchester Central as part of Manchester Tech Week, DTX was a great opportunity to grow our brand awareness. Through presenting our products, services, and solutions, we found a wider audience of delegates who were interested in our physical and cyber security offerings.

Teaming up with Verkada to showcase their latest offerings in cloud-based physical security, our stand was buzzing with delegates wishing to examine our display of Dome Cameras, Access Controllers, and Environmental Sensors.

Our main attraction for the event, however, was the Verkada Bullet Camera we had wall-mounted to show a live video feed of our stand. Providing delegates with an interactive demo experience made showcasing the innovative features of the Verkada Command Platform easier, by providing real-time evidence of its capabilities.

DTX was a great way for us to communicate our deployment capabilities as a Verkada Gold Partner, whilst promoting the Kubus brand and making meaningful connections with delegates and other industry leaders.

On the calendar for September was the Enterprise IT Strategy Forum. Held at The De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel by ah!media, this event was focused on bringing together solution-seeking enterprise companies with innovative service providers to explore the existing and forthcoming challenges in the sector.

Attending in collaboration with Pure Storage, Kubus Enterprise Team Lead Archie Doyle presented alongside Mark Hodgson to showcase the latest in flexible, sustainable storage solutions. Pure’s innovative technology, combined with Kubus’ extensive compute and store expertise, and other related value-added services led to many interesting conversations with delegates and other industry leaders.

Throughout the two-day event we gained valuable insight into the issues and challenges organisations across a variety of different industries were facing. This kind of insight enables us, in collaboration with our vendors, to continue creating innovative solutions which rapidly resolve our clients’ issues.

For our final event of 2024, our Public Sector and Security Team exhibited at The Schools and Academies Show (SaAs), hosted by Govnet and held at the NEC in Birmingham. Teaming up with One Identity and Verkada, we created a security showcase to demonstrate our combined ability to protect and secure education campuses, physically and digitally.

Verkada’s unique air quality sensors were of great interest to delegates, with James Hayter of Verkada delivering a live case study seminar with Ormiston Forge Academy, to discuss the positive impact this technology has had on the wellbeing of their students. After hearing about the advanced capabilities and benefits of this Verkada solution, our stand was flooded with attendees wishing to learn more.

One Identity’s Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution also generated interesting discussions, with delegates wishing to learn more about PAM Essentials, and the gap this solution bridges between education organisations and accessible cyber-security tools.

This was a useful event for promoting our cyber security capabilities, as well as demonstrating accessible security solutions for education. With multiple delegates requesting trial kits and further demonstrations of these solutions, we can safely say this year of events has ended on a high.

We have loved being able to participate in, exhibit at and attend such a wide array of interesting events in 2024, and we’re excited to continue this into 2025 and beyond.
